Skyview Trail

Enjoy picturesque Skyview Lake as you walk, bike, or skate on this 2.5 mile concrete trail. Parking and restrooms are available in Skyview Park.

Ponca State Park Trails

With more than 17 miles of trail, the park provides hikers and bikers with ample opportunities to explore and view the diverse flora and fauna close up.

Riverfront Trail

This 0.4 mile concrete surface trail runs along the North Fork of the Elkhorn River. A bridge spans the river, connecting Benjamin Avenue to Riverside Boulevard.


Willow Creek Trail

A 3 mile natural hiking and horseback trail winds through the State Recreation Area at Willow Lake, 1.5 miles southwest of Pierce. The first phase (4.5 miles) of a 9 mile trail is slated to be surfaced with crushed limestone in late summer or Fall 2001. This 10 foot wide trail will link the city of Pierce to the Recreation Area.

Cowboy Trail

When finished, this hiking, biking, and equestrian trail will stretch 321 miles across Nebraska, making it the longest rail-to-trail conversion in the nation. The trail will pass over 221 bridges and through 29 communities. The 143-mile segment from Norfolk to Ainsworth is open to the public.

Maskenthine Recreation Area

Currently, this area east of Norfolk has a walking trail about 3 miles long around Maskenthine lake. In the future, there will be a 4 mile limestone trail around the lake and perhaps a trail along the Maskenthine Creek connecting the lake with Stanton, Nebraska. There will also be an unsurfaced horseback riding trail and a woodchip trail in the arboretum.

Ta-Ha-Zouka Extension

A 2.2 mile concrete trail now connects the Cowboy Trail to Ta-Ha-Zouka Park on the south edge of Norfolk, along US Highway 81.

Levee Trail

The Norfolk Levee Trail is a concrete trail that follows the flood control channel in eastern Norfolk, from Benjamin Avenue to Omaha Avenue. This 2004 project includes underpasses at Norfolk and Benjamin Avenues and a widened sidewalk/trail past the Middle School and YMCA, connecting to the existing Riverside Trail. It is the eastern backbone of the network of city trails.

Pasewalk Avenue Trail

An 8 foot wide sidewalk/trail on the north side of the new Pasewalk Avenue in Norfolk. This will be an important east-west link in the city trails network.
